Food. Junk food. Pop. Coffee. Negativity, to name a few. But we can’t forget the big ones, you know – drugs, alcohol and pornography.
Whatever your bad habit or addiction is, it’s a struggle to change it.
It takes time. It takes patience. It takes perseverance!
Some are blessed to have those desires destroyed right away. The rest of us, work hard to change.
I recently had a great chat with a friend who gave me permission to share a part of her story. She has been sober for almost 10 months – yay!!!! She’s a single mom and knew things had to change. Initially, it was hard for her. She took it one day at a time.
Sure, she lost friends. But she made new ones!
For the first time she went through the Christmas holidays without a drink or a joint! This she gives thanks and glory to Jesus!
Has it been hard? Yes.
Has it been worth it? Yes.
Know that you can overcome this. Know that whatever you’re using to give you short satisfaction won’t better your life, it will make you double guess it. Giving in to that addiction and that bad habit makes you question your purpose, it makes you question so many things.
My friend says to just take it one day at a time.
Just by taking it one day at a time, you can be living proof that change is possible!
